Joanna (Biddy) Hooper
Foundation Governor
I’m Biddy (Joanna) Hooper and I’m the Foundation Governor at Morchard Bishop CofE Primary School. I have four children and am also a teacher at a local school. I became a governor as I’m passionate about children’s learning and their school experience being the best it can be :)
Catherine Cozens
Parent Governor - Morchard Bishop C of E
I’m Catherine and I’m the Parent Governor at Morchard Bishop CofE Primary School. I have a son at the School (and another one who recently left for secondary school) and, despite not coming from an educational background, I became a Governor because I want to support the School as well as I can to ensure that the children are having the best experience there.
Mat Boult
Parent Governor - Cheriton Bishop
I am a primary school teacher with twenty years’ experience working with children in all different settings. I have been a teacher in many different schools, including being a special educational needs coordinator, and have been involved in the school development plans to ensure the children are getting the best experience they can from the school they are in.
I have become a governor to ensure that the community of Cheriton Bishop is served in the best possible way for our children, and to be the voice of the parents, making positive change and being able to support the school where I can.
Bruce Abbott
Parent Governor - Yeoford
I am passionate about this school. It is an integral and essential part of the village community.
I want to be part of and contribute to the school’s development and its future.
When I moved into this part of Devon, this school stood out as the school for my three daughters. All three started at Yeoford in September 2020 and I joined the PTFA. One of my daughters went on to QE in 2024 but her younger siblings are still at the school.
I come from a background of over 4 decades in education. I have a post graduate teaching qualification for teaching all levels of post 16 education. I have experience in managing training organisations. There are many similarities in all levels of education for auditing and management strategies; I bring that experience with me. My relevant experience to this role is nine years previously as a governor in a key role at a very large junior school.
I am also passionate about sports and music and would like every child at this school to have opportunities in both. Yeoford School provides a wonderful learning environment.
I can be contacted through the school office and through the WhatsApp groups for Bumblebees, Foxes and Owls.
