Bumblebees Class

Welcome Bumblebees!

Welcome to Yeoford Primary School and welcome back after Easter! We are very excited to get stuck into the new term after lockdown!

We have lots of exciting learning to look forward to. We will be finding out what makes a superhero and do all superheroes wear capes? We will be finding out about people in our communities and their roles in supporting us. We will be learning about doctors and nurses, farmers, fire fighters, shop keepers amongst many key roles. In Bumblebee class we love asking questions, we hope to find out all about their job role and how they carry out their role. We will finish by revisiting the question, 'when I grow up, I want to be...' After the half term, we will start 'sandy paths and stormy seas' as we prepare for transitions and look forward to the summer. Here you can see our curriculum plan for the term which shows the learning intentions for the term. How we teach these may change as we follow the children’s interests. Please look out for all our inquisitive, play-based learning on Tapestry where you can regularly see what we have been learning and our next steps.

This week we found Panda with his bag and coins scattered on the floor. Pandas keys, purse and face mask were missing. We decided Panda needed the help of a police officer!
This week, Panda had made a mess whilst making his breakfast. Crumbs all over the carpet. We wrote on a whiteboard who could help Panda. We decided a cleaner could help Panda!
Bumblebees dressed up as their heroes to launch our term. We dressed up as a superhero or someone we aspire to. We had doctors, superheroes and Cleopatra...

This is what our busy day looks like:

Busy learning time. Children can self-select an activity which is linked to the topic and a learning intention.

Adults will be teaching interventions, an adult guided activity or creating a learning story on how your child learns over the course of a week whilst supporting your child to meet their individual targets.

Children have access to fruit and water throughout the day.

Playtime. We will sometimes miss playtime if we are lost in play or busy solving the latest ‘who did it’!

Continuation of busy learning time.
